Lisanak ("لسانك," "the app," "we," "us") is built on the principle that your remembrance of Allah is between you and Him. We have designed this app to collect the absolute minimum amount of data necessary to function. We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not track you across other apps or websites. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what data the app touches, where it goes, and what your rights are.
The following information never leaves your iPhone and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:
This data is stored locally using Apple's standard on-device storage. If you delete the app, this data is permanently erased with it.
Lisanak's voice counting feature uses Apple's on-device Speech Recognition framework to detect when you say a dhikr phrase aloud. Here is exactly how it works:

Lisanak uses two third-party services, both limited to specific operational purposes. Neither is used for advertising or behavioral tracking.
Purpose: Processing optional tip jar contributions (sadaqah jariyah) through Apple In-App Purchase.
What it receives: When you make a tip, RevenueCat receives an anonymous subscriber identifier generated by the app (not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID), the product identifier of the tip you selected, and the transaction receipt from Apple needed to verify the purchase. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, phone number, payment card details, or any dhikr data.
If you never make a tip, RevenueCat receives nothing about you.

Purpose: Detecting and diagnosing app crashes and technical errors so we can fix bugs.
What it receives: If the app crashes or encounters an error, Sentry receives a technical diagnostic report containing: the type of error, the line of code where it occurred, the iOS version, the device model (e.g., "iPhone 15 Pro"), and the app version. We have configured Sentry to scrub personally identifiable information from these reports.
What Sentry does NOT receive: Your name, email, IP address (we have disabled IP collection), Apple ID, dhikr counts, audio, voice transcripts, or any spiritual content from the app.

Tip jar purchases are processed by Apple's standard In-App Purchase system. Apple handles all payment processing. Lisanak never sees your credit card, Apple ID password, or billing details. Apple's privacy policy applies to that transaction: apple.com/legal/privacy
To be explicit, Lisanak does not collect:
We do not use cookies, analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Facebook SDK, no Mixpanel), or behavioral tracking tools.
Lisanak does not track you across other apps or websites owned by other companies. We will not show you the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt at launch because we have nothing to track.
Lisanak is suitable for all ages and is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The minimal technical data described in Section 3 is not personally identifiable.
Because we store almost no data about you, your rights are simple:
Users in the European Union and United Kingdom have rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Users in California have rights under CCPA (right to know, right to delete, right to opt out of sale — note that we do not sell data to anyone). We use industry-standard security practices. All network communication with RevenueCat and Sentry occurs over encrypted HTTPS connections (TLS 1.2 or higher). On-device data is protected by iOS's built-in encryption when your device is locked.
No system is perfectly secure. However, because Lisanak collects so little data, the impact of any potential breach is inherently limited.
If we materially change how Lisanak handles data, we will update this policy and update the "Last Updated" date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
